La Madriguera received  a huge green crowd that came to witness a new victory on their main rivals, Kattegat Raiders

However, Gustavo Chaparro's 16th minute goal gave Raiders a 1-0 victory over Carpinchos giving the Vikings a bright start in this new season.

Kattegat's coach, F.G. Harasser, made no changes to his usual starting line-up, but after the first goal, he shuffled the pack in the 20th minute with Abdullat appearing on the pitch instead of Salin, which gave Kattegat a completely different configuration on the field playing 5-4-1 since that moment. "This changes were already planned from the very beginning in case we took the lead, we worked on it.", commented the German coach.

Carpies applied a lot of pressure in the closing stages of the match. Chilean coach J.I. Johnson threw all of his ammo on the field to make things better for the host team. And they had an opportunity, at the 76th, when Rogelio Ré tried to use his speed to get past his defender towards goal, but Maciel also showed his great reaction to reach him and avoid him from scoring.

After that, at the 85th minute, Soto was on hand to make a great challenge on Neumann, but was unable to make it count and his shot went over the bar, and all Carpinchos' last hope with it.

Later at the press conference José I. Johnson claimed that: "It was disappointing to lose but we will keep fighting. The boys did their best today, a big effort. We have strong players, a strong team,  much potential and much more to give. This is only the beginning".

Gustavo Chaparro also showed up in the press conference after match, and said: "I feel really happy for this personal revenge. Last time here was very hard for me, many people pointed at me as the guilty for not winning, but I kept strong, and I knew I was going to come back here to make things different. And the team was awesome today".

What's next for both teams? Competing in the second round of the Paraguayan Cup.

In the league, next Saturday Kattegat Raiders will face Cordillerana at home, as Carpinchos will have to take a trip to Davidiano's arena to seek for their first points in the league.
